OnePlus 7 series: OnePlus skips IP rating water resistance again | GlobalDiaries

OnePlus confirmed its new OnePlus 7 series will be water resistant but without IP rating again.

OnePlus will launch its flagship OnePlus 7 series on May 14. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has confirmed its new smartphones will come with water resistance, but will not be IP rated.

In a teaser video shared by OnePlus, the company says that the new OnePlus 7 series will not have IP rating because it’s expensive. It has instead opted for something less expensive but good enough for water resistance. The upcoming OnePlus 7 is also seen being dipped inside a bucket full of water.

OnePlus has for long resisted IP rating on its smartphones. Most flagship smartphones come with IP68 water and dust resistance which ensures that the phones can be submerged up to 1.5m under water and for duration of 30 minutes. It also protects the smartphones from dust, dirt and sand.

While OnePlus has been revealing few features of the OnePlus 7 series through teasers, leaks haven’t been quiet though. In fact, just this week the entire spec sheet of OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro was leaked.

OnePlus specifications

OnePlus 7 is expected to feature a 6.2-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop styled notch. The smartphone will pack 6GB of RAM, and house a 4,150mAh battery. It will also be equipped with 30W Warp Charge via a USB Type-C port.

For photography, OnePlus 7 will continue with dual rear cameras including a 48-megapixel sensor and a telephoto lens. Like the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 7 will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.

OnePlus 7 Pro specifications

The premium OnePlus 7 Pro will flaunt a bigger 6.64-inch QHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. It could also offer a curved display as opposed to OnePlus 7 which will have a flat display. OnePlus 7 Pro will offer up to 10GB of RAM, and sport a triple-camera setup. The combination will include a 48-megapixel sensor, telephoto lens and wide-angle lens.

OnePlus 7 Pro shares some features with OnePlus 7 including a 4,150mAh battery, and in-display fingerprint sensor.

Could Mobile Technology Be Ruining Your Sleep : Read Blog

Picture this: You've had a long day at work, your child/dog/SO has been making you insane, and all you need to do is cuddle up in your comfortable bed and get a good night’s sleep. To help you “wind down,” you scroll through Facebook or check out what’s trending on Reddit. Sound familiar? In a recent report about phone use around the night, almost 77% of respondents admitted to signing into web-based life applications before resting off to rest. And keep in mind that this activity may appear as though it helps you wind down, it's really doing the opposite. The blue-and-white light emitted from devices like your smartphone, tablet, and even the TV keeps your mind from releasing melatonin. This is the hormone that causes you to nod off. So consider your electronic gadgets a shield that restrains your brain and body from feeling tired. What's worse is that specialists recommend waiting at least 30 minutes after using technology before trying to fall asleep. So the ...

We breathe all the time, yet pay very little attention to the right techniques, especially during a workout.

How your sexual orientation may influence extent of substance use

If you are lesbian, gay or bisexual, you may be at greater risk of substance abuse, in the form of marijuana, nicotine, and alcohol, says new research by Oregon State University. Lesbian, gay or bisexual youth, according to a study, are at an increased risk of using multiple substances — such as alcohol, nicotine, and marijuana. The Oregon State University research added that these youth are also at higher risk of polysubstance use, meaning they are more likely to use more than one substance than their heterosexual peers. “This data shows definitively that polysubstance use is an issue among many youths who identify as sexual minorities, meaning they are facing added health risks,” said Sarah Dermody. “But there are also differences among the subgroups of youth who identify as sexual minorities, suggesting we need to look beyond the averages to understand what factors may be influencing substance use in this population.” The sexual minority is an umbrella term for those ...
