OnePlus confirmed its new OnePlus 7 series will be water resistant but without IP rating again. OnePlus will launch its flagship OnePlus 7 series on May 14. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has confirmed its new smartphones will come with water resistance, but will not be IP rated. In a teaser video shared by OnePlus, the company says that the new OnePlus 7 series will not have IP rating because it’s expensive. It has instead opted for something less expensive but good enough for water resistance. The upcoming OnePlus 7 is also seen being dipped inside a bucket full of water. OnePlus has for long resisted IP rating on its smartphones. Most flagship smartphones come with IP68 water and dust resistance which ensures that the phones can be submerged up to 1.5m under water and for duration of 30 minutes.
